Use AirBoard away from home

Planned · sign up

Today AirBoard works only on the same Wi‑Fi: your devices talk to each other directly, with no server on the internet and no account.

We are considering an option for devices that have already approved each other on the same Wi‑Fi: keep using AirBoard when they are apart (office and home, or out and about with your home PC), over the internet. It would also help when office Wi‑Fi blocks devices from seeing each other.

What we have in mind

  • Only pairs that both approved each other on the same Wi‑Fi
  • End-to-end encrypted between your devices. The relay in the middle cannot read it and does not store it
  • Off by default. Everything on the same Wi‑Fi stays free, as it is today
  • Because the relay costs money to run, it is planned as a monthly paid plan

Not available yet. To see how many people need it, we are collecting sign-ups. We will let you know when it is ready (your email address is optional).

The sign-up form is a Google Form. Your answers are used only to decide whether and when to build this, and to tell you when it is ready.

Need to connect from somewhere else today?

If your office Wi‑Fi blocks devices, you can connect through your PC's mobile hotspot. See this guide.
